Parents and Gynecomastia surgery?

I have a slight case of Gynecomastia and want to have surgery. Its has pretty much ruined 3 years of my life not wanting to go swimming or take my shirt off in front of people. I want to ask my parents to pay for the surgery but i feel if they do do this i will be wasting there money. But I know that it will change my life forever! What should I do?
